The Governmental Relations Department is the university's liaison to elected representatives, appointed officials and government agencies at the city, county, state and national level. Responsibilities include monitoring legislation and activity-ranging from purchasing and collective bargaining policies to funding for capital improvements and proposed changes in tuition rates-that may impact the university. The department also keeps government representatives informed about university activities that may be of interest to their constituencies, and provides suggestions and feedback on issues of importance to the university in particular and education in general. |
