Cognoscenti is a healthcare service and technology company using advanced information technology and emerging biotechnology to deliver medical laboratory services to patients, physicians, clinics, and hospitals. Cognoscenti delivers clinical laboratory services with a web-enabled expert system that provides physicians with guidance for test utilization at the point of decision making. The same system also provides patients with direct access to laboratory testing information and services to help them proactively manage their health. For healthcare institutions and third party payers, this system creates a new paradigm that allows the implementation of a cost-effective, evidence-based laboratory medicine practice. Cognoscenti also uses and develops many automated, emerging bio-molecular technologies. They are one of only three companies in the country developing clinical diagnostic tests for a new “nano lab on a chip” platform.
